Shed slabs in Bendigo — one team from site cut to finished pour
A shed slab in Bendigo is only as strong as the ground prepared underneath it — so Leigh Whyte Concreting does the site cut, footings, falls and the pour as one job. One local operator, his own machines, and a dead-level slab your shed builder can get straight onto.
- Site cut + footings + pour, one team
- Trusted by Best Sheds, Fair Dinkum & Safety Steel
- Built to your kit-shed engineering specs
What a properly built shed slab needs
Most slabs that crack or move didn’t fail at the pour — they failed underneath, where the prep was rushed. Leigh spent 11 years on precision formwork before running his own business, so the part you can’t see gets done right first.
Site cut & levels
Excavation and a level, compacted base set with our own Bobcat and excavator — no hire-and-wait.
Footings to your engineering specs
Edge thickenings and footings poured to the plans supplied with your shed, not a guess.
Falls & drainage
Surface falls set so water runs away from the slab and the shed, not back under it.
Reinforcement & the right mix
Mesh or bar to spec and the correct MPa concrete matched to the job.
Pour, finish & cure
A dead-level finish and a clear cure timeframe, so the shed build can be booked with confidence.
Why Bendigo shed buyers call Leigh first
Plenty of concreters will pour a slab. Far fewer will own the whole job from bare dirt to finished concrete. Here’s what’s actually different.
One team for site prep and the slab
We own the plant and do the site cut, footings, falls and the pour as one accountable job — so there’s no earthworks contractor to coordinate and no one to chase.
Trusted by the shed suppliers
Best Sheds, Fair Dinkum Builds and Safety Steel refer us because their build slot depends on the slab being right, square and on time. Repeat work is the only marketing we’ve needed.
Foundations done right, so it lasts
Twenty-three years means the prep underneath is done properly. Get the cut, footings and falls right and the slab doesn’t crack or lift down the track.
Plain English, start to finish
A local operator who’ll talk you through thickness, footings and MPa without the jargon dump — and who can organise the shed build too if you’d rather hand over the lot.
Bring us the plans and we'll handle the rest
If you’ve ordered a kit shed from Best Sheds, Fair Dinkum or Safety Steel, your shed pack comes with engineering specs — MPa, slab thickness, footing sizes and tie-down points. Send them through and we’ll read them with you, then build the slab to suit.
Want the whole thing off your plate? We can arrange a trusted local shed builder, so the site prep, slab and shed build land as one coordinated job with a single point of contact. Ask about a packaged deal when you book.

The slab goes down to spec, finished level, and we hand it over with a clear cure timeframe for the shed build.
What Bendigo shed owners say
Comments shared with us by our customers.
Leigh's done three separate jobs for us now — the shed slab, the driveway and carport, then the basketball court out the back. He takes the time to understand what you're trying to achieve, offers practical suggestions, and works through any challenges. He's a tradesman we keep coming back to.
Repeat customer · Strathdale
Leigh managed our large concreting project exceptionally well over five separate stages — shed slab, driveways, pathways, the pool area and mower strips.
Every stage was completed on time and the workmanship was outstanding. The finished result has exceeded our expectations.

Shed slab questions we get asked most
If your question isn’t here, send it through and we’ll answer it on the phone.
How thick should a shed slab be?
It depends on your engineering specs and what’s going on the slab. For most kit sheds it comes down to the plans supplied with your shed. Send them through and we’ll talk you through the thickness, footings and MPa in plain English — no guesswork.
Do you do the site prep and earthworks, or just the concrete?
Both. Leigh owns his own Bobcat, excavator and tipper, so the site cut, levels, falls, footings and the pour are one job — one team, one point of contact. You’re not left coordinating a separate earthworks contractor.
How much does a shed slab cost in Bendigo?
It depends on the size, the site, how much earthworks is involved and your engineering specs, so we don’t quote a per-metre price sight unseen. The honest way to get a real number is a free site inspection — we come out, look at the job and give you a straight written quote.
How long before I can build the shed on a new slab?
Concrete keeps gaining strength over time, but as a rule you’ll be right to start building after a short cure. We give you a clear timeframe for your specific slab so the shed build can be booked with confidence.
Do I need a permit for a shed slab?
Some sheds need a building permit and some don’t, depending on size, siting and your council. We’ll point you in the right direction and work to your approved plans — if you’re unsure, start with the Victorian Building Authority or your local council.
Can you organise the shed build too?
Yes. If you’d like the whole thing handled, we can arrange a trusted local shed builder so the site prep, slab and shed are one coordinated job. Ask about a packaged deal when you book your inspection.
