Concrete Driveways In Bendigo — Site Cut, Poured And Finished By One Team
A concrete driveway in Bendigo is only as good as the ground it sits on — so Leigh Whyte Concreting does the site cut, falls, pour and finish as one job. One local operator, his own machines, and a driveway with the drainage set right so it lasts instead of cracking and pooling water.
- Excavation + falls + pour, one team
- New driveways & cracked-surface replacements
- Plain, broom or exposed aggregate finishes
What A Properly Built Concrete Driveway Needs
Most driveways that crack, sink or pool water didn’t fail at the pour — they failed underneath, where the prep was rushed or the falls were never set. Leigh spent 11 years on precision formwork before running his own business, so the part you can’t see gets done right first.
Excavation & a compacted base
Dig-out, levels and a properly compacted base set with our own Bobcat and excavator — no hire-and-wait, no soft spots left to sink.
Falls & drainage that work
Surface falls set so water runs to the street or drain — away from the house, garage and slab — not back under your driveway.
Reinforcement & the right mix
Mesh to spec and the correct MPa concrete matched to a surface that carries cars and trailers, day in, day out.
Edges, jointing & finish
Clean edges, control joints in the right spots, and your choice of finish — plain, broom or a premium exposed aggregate.
Pour, finish & cure
A neat, level finish and a clear cure timeframe, so you know exactly when you can walk on it and when you can drive on it.
Why Bendigo Homeowners Choose Leigh For Their Concrete Driveway
Plenty of concreters will pour a driveway. Far fewer will dig it out, fix the base and set the falls themselves — then stand behind the lot. Here’s what’s actually different.
One Team For The Site Cut And The Pour
We own the plant and do the excavation, base, falls and the pour as one accountable job — so there’s no earthworks contractor to coordinate and no one to chase if something’s not right.
Falls Done Right, So Water Goes Where It Should
A driveway that pools water or runs toward the garage is a prep problem, not a bad-luck problem. We set the falls so water drains away and the surface stays sound.
23 Years Means It Lasts
Get the base, reinforcement and jointing right and a concrete driveway carries cars and trailers for decades without cracking up. That’s where the experience earns its keep.
Plain English And A Straight Price
A local operator who explains the falls, finish and MPa without the jargon dump — then comes out, looks at the job properly and gives you one written quote.
Cracked, Lifting Or Root-Damaged Concrete Driveways? We Replace Them Properly
Old driveways crack and lift for a reason — tree roots, a base that was never compacted, or falls that send water the wrong way. We don’t just pour over the problem. We dig out the old surface, fix what’s underneath, and pour a new driveway that drains and lasts.
We also do the smaller jobs that round out a property: concrete footpaths, side paths and connecting slabs, set level and finished to match. Same approach, same one point of contact — whether it’s a full driveway or a path to the back gate.

What Bendigo Homeowners Say
Comments shared with us by our customers.
Leigh's done three separate jobs for us now — the shed slab, the driveway and carport, then the basketball court out the back. He takes the time to understand what you're trying to achieve, offers practical suggestions, and works through any challenges. He's a tradesman we keep coming back to.
Repeat customer · Strathdale
Leigh managed our large concreting project exceptionally well over five separate stages — shed slab, driveways, pathways, the pool area and mower strips.
Every stage was completed on time and the workmanship was outstanding. The finished result has exceeded our expectations.

Concrete Driveway Questions We Get Asked Most
If your question isn’t here, send it through and we’ll answer it on the phone.
How Much Does A Concrete Driveway Cost In Bendigo?
It depends on the size, the site, how much dig-out is involved and the finish you choose, so we don’t quote a per-metre price sight unseen. The honest way to get a real number is a free site inspection — we come out, look at the job and give you a straight written quote.
Do You Do The Excavation And Site Prep, Or Just The Concrete?
Both. Leigh owns his own Bobcat, excavator and tipper, so the dig-out, base, levels, falls and the pour are one job — one team, one point of contact. You’re not left coordinating a separate earthworks contractor. It’s the same full-process approach behind our shed slabs and site preparation.
Can You Replace An Old Cracked Or Root-Damaged Driveway?
Yes — that’s a big part of what we do. We dig out the old surface, deal with whatever caused it to fail (roots, a poor base or bad falls), and pour a new driveway that drains properly and lasts, rather than pouring over the problem.
What Finishes Can I Choose From?
Plain, a broom finish for grip, or a premium exposed aggregate in a range of stone and colour options. We’ll talk through what suits the look of your home and the way the driveway gets used, and show you the difference at the quote.
How Long Before I Can Drive On A New Driveway?
Concrete keeps gaining strength over time. As a rule you can walk on it within a short while and drive on it a bit later — we give you clear walk-on and drive-on timeframes for your specific driveway so you can plan around it.
Do I Need A Permit For A New Driveway Or Crossover?
The driveway itself usually doesn’t need one, but connecting it to the road (the vehicle crossing, or “crossover”) often does. We’ll point you in the right direction — for Bendigo jobs, start with the City of Greater Bendigo or your local council.
